Yumpling Midtown

“This place is really special. A friend at work who loves her foodie spots suggested this little gem and she was spot on with these juicy delicious huge dumplings that will fill you up! The short story about the beginnings of this little dumpling empire started off as a small stand at the LIC Flea market before opening up their food truck in Long Island city in 2017. After a short while, and lots of word of mouth the owner finally opened up a location here in the greatest city on earth, right in Midtown on 52nd St. The other store location is still in Long Island city on Vernon Blvd. Besides their famous dumplings the menu consists of noodles, Bian Dang rice bowls, fried chicken sandwiches, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, garlicky cucumbers, shaved ice and plenty of other sides. Specialty drinks include Bubble tea, Tai beer, Iced Taro lattes and more. But the "piece de resistance" is their mouth watering dumplings. We have consistently ordered the pork & chive dumplings which is made with their homemade chili oil, sesame seeds and scallions & cilantro. My wife and I split the large portion which consists of 12pcs. It's more then enough for 2 people. You can also order the half & half or the Yumpling trio to try them all out. I plan on trying the beef noodle soup and the popcorn chicken next time, but I might have to get the small order of 4pcs dumplings because they are sooo addictive. If your around the midtown area, Yumpling is the place for takeout or dine in if you want to try the most stuffed and delectable dumplings on this planet.”

“Surprisingly delicious! Thought this was just some random take out place with the sign outside, but the quality of ingredients is great. The fried chicken cutlet was juicy thigh meat and crunchy on the outside. The Lu rou rice beneath was solidly good, and reminds me of my Taiwanese auntie's cooking. I wish the inside space was bigger, but the decor is cute too if you can grab a seat. I will totally come back here the next time in the area.”

“Good to see you in manhattan! After years of schlepping to LIC for good, reasonably priced Taiwanese food, we finally have this option in the city! The lu ro fan is my go to; but everything is good here. The space is also a lot bigger and nicer than the original location.”
